Walk for Recovery

What is Mental Illness?

September 29, 2018
Walk So We Can Talk; Stop the Stigma of Mental Illness!

This fall we are having our seventh annual “Walk for Recovery.” It will take place in Kent, Ohio, on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 10:30 am.  This year we are in partnership with the Mental Health and Recovery Board and KSU Campus NAMI so we can walk so we can talk; stopping the stigma of mental illness. We are seeking our friends and collogues to help support our endeavor. It would be wonderful if you could join us at this fundraiser at the Hometown Bank Stage in Kent. We will have our Walk around the charming side-street shops and quaint Acorn Alley of our downtown.

This year’s WALK program will feature Joel Mowrey, the Director of the Mental Health and Recovery Board; Brittany Dayton, the founder of the new KSU Campus NAMI; and David Stump, singing his new song about recovery. Refreshments will be served. Parking will be at the Municipal lot behind the Mental Health and Recovery Board.

This year our WALK for Recovery will start at the Hometown Bank Stage with a new route including the charming shops in Acorn Alley and the quaint merchants on the side streets of downtown Kent.  This appealing area offers an amazing variety of shops, restaurants, and boutiques bringing a unique benefit and perspective to our WALK.
